VINSON MASSIF

Vinson Massif is Antarctica's highest mountain, rising to 4,892 meters (16,050 feet) in the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains. Named after U.S. Congressman Carl Vinson, it was first summited in 1966 by an American team led by Nicholas Clinch, making it a key Seven Summits peak.
